Joey Hickman

Joey trained at Rose Bruford, and has gone on to work successfully as an actor, musician and musical director. 

Joey can most recently be seen as Haydn in Brassed Off at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

Joey played The Proprietor in The Watermill's production of Assassins, and originated the role of Roger Button in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which was first staged at Southwark Playhouse. He has also appeared in Snow White at The Tabacco Factory, Bristol, A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Watermill Theatre, The BFG for Birmingham Repatory Theatre, We're Going on a Bear Hunt for Kenny Wax, Dreamboats and Petticoats at the West End's Playhouse Theatre and Made in Dagenham at The Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch, amongst many others. 

As a musical director, Joey has worked on the highly sucessful The Comedy About A Bank Robbery for Mischief Theatre at London's Criterion Theatre, as well as arranging the show musically. He has also musically directed productions such as Dreamboats and Petticoats, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Threpenny Opera (Nottingham Playhouse and New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich), Three Minute Heroes (Belgrade Theatre, Coventry), Oliver (The Watermill Theatre) Our House (New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich) and Mog The Forgetful Cat tour.

In addition, Joey also runs his own theatre company, The Wild and the Innocent, and is developing Icarus, a new piece based on the Greek myth that encorporates music, theatre and British Sign Language.
