Charles Brunton in The Producers

Charles Brunton in The Producers

Following his stint on Broadway as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda The Musical, Charles Brunton joins the cast of The Producers at The Royal Exchange Theatre as Roger De Bris. This production is directed by Raz Shaw.

This new version of Mel Brook's classic comedy film will be staged in the round for the first time and follows the story of theatre producer Max Bialystock and his downtrodden accountant Leo Bloom as they try their luck at making some big money with putting on the biggest flop in Broadway history. Charles plays Roger De Bris, the flamboyant theatre director hired by Bialystock and Bloom to stage a musical they're sure will fail, Springtime for Hitler.

The Producers plays at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre 30 November 2018 - 26 January 2019.

"Special mention has to be given to Charles Brunton as the ostentatious theatre director Roger De Bris. The actor is having a whale of a time onstage and the audience just feeds off his exuberant energy."  GB Theatre

"It is the performances of Charles Brunton as ostentatious theatre director Roger De Bris and Hammed Animashaun as his assistant Carmen that provide the show's true comic highlights – watching Brunton lowered to the stage on a gigantic German eagle during his star turn as Adolf Hitler is one of the memorable moments of the production." - Whats On Stage

"Charles Brunton is terrific as Roger De Bris the breathless and highly camp director who really wants to act." - The Reviews Hub
