Joey Hickman

Joey trained at Rose Bruford, and has gone on to work successfully as an actor, musician and musical director.

He can currently be seen as Phil in Brassed Off in the UK tour having played Haydn in the same show at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre.

Joey’s stage highlights include originating the role of Roger Button in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Southwark Playhouse), Assassins (The Watermill Theatre),  A Midsummer Night’s Dream (The Watermill Theatre), Snow White (The Tabacco Factory), The BFG (Birmingham Rep), and Made in Dagenham (The Queen’s Theatre), amongst many others.

Joey is also a successful Musical Director, having worked on many shows including The Comedy About A Bank Robbery at London’s Criterion Theatre which he also arranged the music for.

In addition, Joey also runs his own theatre company, The Wild and the Innocent, and is developing Icarus, a new piece based on the Greek myth that incorporates music, theatre and British Sign Language.
