Charles is a well-established actor known for his roles in musical theatre.
He played Miss Trunchball in Matilda in the West End and on Broadway, and originated the role of Emelius Browne in Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
Other stage credits include Caspar in 101 Dalmatians The Musical (UK Tour, cast recording), Dr Gangle in Love Never Dies (Adelphi Theatre and Drury Lane), Eddie/Dr Scott in Rocky Horror Show (World Tour), Frank in The Producers (European Tour), Roger De Bris in The Producers (The Royal Exchange Manchester), Gordon Shakespeare in Nativity! The Musical (UK Tour), Chess (Royal Albert Hall), and Scrooge (UK Tour) among others.
On screen Charles can be seen as the head judge on Brillanti, in Hot Pursuits and as Mark in award winning feature film A Call To Spy.
He also appeared on the original cast recording of Oliver! at the London Palladium in 1994.
